NORFOLK'S SENIORS CLOSE TO SANTA'S HEART
12/5/2017 7:03:17 AM

For the second year in a row, one group is making sure it's not only the young who get to enjoy Christmas but also the young at heart.

The Haldimand Norfolk Santa For A Senior Program has one goal: That is to make sure no one gets forgotten during the festive season.

All you do is visit the Walmart in Simcoe, where you can pick a tag off a Christmas tree.

The tag contains the name and wish of one local senior citizen.

Diana Usher, the organizer of the program, says it's easy and will make someone's day. ----------------------

--------------------- Usher says the gifts are essential items like socks, slippers, sweaters and body lotion.

She says many of the seniors don't receive any gifts on Christmas morning because they are simply forgotten about, or their family lives too far away to visit.

The deadline to get a gift in is December 20th.
