COUNCILLOR FLABBERGASTED OVER ARTS CENTRE RESTORATION COSTS
10/12/2017 7:30:10 AM

The Norfolk Arts Centre is getting restoration work done, but not without its critics.

Councillor Harold Sonnenburg was flabbergasted Tuesday night when the cost to restore the outside of the building, like replacing windows, came in at over $500,000.

This price is a substantial improvement with the original lowest bid coming in at $740,000 back in August.

It was re-tendered with some details changed to bring the cost down.

Parks Canada will pitch in half the cost.
