WATERSHED WATER SAFETY STATEMENT ISSUED
10/9/2017 10:18:06 AM

The Long Point Region Conservation Authority has issued a 'Watershed Conditions Water Safety' statement for the area watercourses. Since Saturday afternoon and evening, Tropical storm Nate has caused significant rainfall with some areas receiving at least 50 to 70 millimetres. Especially in the areas that have seen more rain, are prone to flooding or are poorly drained, watercourses have responded to the precipitation.

For your safety, be cautious and stay away from ditches, streams and rivers. Slippery slopes leading into the water and fast-flowing water can be dangerous. Keep children, pets and livestock away from the affected areas. Flooding is not expected.

This statement will be in effect until 12:00 p.m. noon on Tuesday (October 10), unless otherwise notified.
