FLOOD OUTLOOK ISSUED
10/7/2017 1:26:01 PM

Long Point Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook for the Lake Erie shoreline and watershed. This is in response to the forecasted 60 km/ h winds and wind gusts of up to 80 km/h that could accompany it this evening (October 7) and tomorrow morning (October 8). This may cause the water levels in Lake Erie to rise quickly along the shoreline.

There is also the risk of surge-related flooding, high waves and erosion along the low lying shoreline areas.

Make sure that you use caution or stay away from the Lake Erie Shoreline areas as the strong winds arise. This is also a reminder to keep children and pets away as well.

The winds are expected to decline over the course of the day Sunday. The warning is en effect until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
