A new curriculum and new report cards will soon be implemented into Norfolk County schools.

The province says the new program will put more emphasis on skills like communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity.

The overhaul of the curriculum will also put a heavy focus on math.

The government also says new report cards will be brought in starting next school year, and they will show students' development of such skills.

Education Minister Mitzie Hunter says teacher training and professional development will also be an important part of the curriculum ``refresh.''
