OPP BRIEFS INCLUDE NEWSPAPER BOXES SET ON FIRE IN PORT DOVER

Newspaper boxes set ablaze in Port Dover.
           
The Norfolk OPP say in the early morning hours on Monday, unknowns lit the boxes on fire in the area of Greenock Street West and Richardson Drive.
               
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.

Three young men fleeing from an attempted robbery.
                
Police say just past midnight on Thursday, three youths were spotted trying to steal a paddle boat from a Mechanic Street West property in Waterford.
                            
The three fled the area when a neighbour came out and entered their vehicle.
                   
Two of the youths were described as white.
   
The third youth was described as indigenous.
          
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the authorities.

Another man charged after leaving their dogs unattended in a hot vehicle.
     
On Monday afternoon, police were contacted after two dogs were spotted in a vehicle for an extended period at Food Land in Port Rowan.
         
Officers attended the area and located the vehicle and driver.
    
A 66-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with leaving an animal unattended in a motor vehicle contrary to Norfolk County Care and Control of Animals By-Law.
