Research has shown that the aging population is staying active longer than ever and the town of Port Dover is looking to keep those activities close to home.

A committee has come together to see if a central location can be found to help house all the activities geared towards those in their golden years.

Mellissa Mummery, a committee member, says it is key to keeping everything together and everything local.

Mummery says the first step is to find a location.

She is uncertain if purchasing real estate is the answer or if partnering with another outlet would better suit their needs.

She says they are also looking at the possibility of fundraising.
