COMMUNITY HUB REPORT WON'T BE RELEASED UNTIL WINTER 2018, SAYS COUNTY STAFF

For those eagerly awaiting the report looking at the fate of Norfolk's arenas and rec centers, will have to wait a lot longer to hear it.

Originally, Norfolk County Staff wanted to hand in the document in September -- it would go over all the options for repairing existing facilities to building a so-called Community HUB in Simcoe.

Bill Cridland, General Manager of Community Services, says after looking at the scope of the work involved, they felt the need to push back the final report by a couple of months.

He says this is too big of an issue to rush through.

Cridland will be recording back to council in August to give and update but figures the final report will not be ready until February on 2018 at the earliest.

He is also expected to talk to our elected officials in the community weeks about the possibility of temporary repairs to Talbot Gardens to allow for some spectator seating.
