Norfolk County is the place where people want to build.

That's according to officials with Norfolk County who say they saw a record breaking first quarter for 2017.

Chris Baird, General Manager of Development and Cultural Service, says when it comes to construction these first few months have been money makers.

Baird feels a lot of factors play into this but notes Mother Nature may have given them the edge.

He adds that 71 new dwelling units were created which is an 82% increase above the 2016 levels, which were already well above average.

2016 saw a record year for construction with over $110-million of building permits issued.
