Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk, and Tillsonburg held their Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday handing out awards to groups and individuals for their efforts in improving the community.

Since their inception locally in 1988, Crime Stoppers has put 2048 people behind bars, 42 of those individuals are just from last year.

In 2016, they have also received 757 reports and seized over $71,000 in drugs.

Chairperson Neil Unwin says they are thankful for their community partners after another busy year.

Also last year, calls lead to a total of 156 charges.

Unwin says they are very proud of their stats and look forward to helping the police and the public this year.
