LONG TIME COUNCILLOR READY TO PASS THE TORCH
4/18/2017 7:40:34 AM

In the 2018 Municipal Election, Councillor John Wells will be stepping down as Ward 6's representative.

But before Wells leaves, he wants to give whoever plans on taking his mantle a few words of advice.

On May 3rd, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wells will be holding an information workshop for anyone looking run as councillor next year.

He tells myFM it's to pass on some knowledge he's picked up over the years but also to make sure those who run know just what they are in for.

He says it's not the same position it was several years ago.

He says Councillors have to do what's best for Norfolk County, not necessarily what's just best for the towns in their ward.

He also says with new technology, people are waiting for you every morning to respond to an email and your voters can reach you at any time.

The information session is being held at the Grace United Church.
