The Norfolk OPP is crediting a Good Samaritan for returning a purse full of cash.

On Monday afternoon, someone found a black purse inside a grocery cart at the Food Basics Store on West Street.

Police say the bag held the victim's personal and financial information along with a significant amount of money.

Instead of stealing it, and with the help of police, the purse was returned to a 78-year old woman.

"The OPP would like to take this opportunity to thank the Good Samaritan for their honesty and integrity. Not only were the police able to return the wallet to the rightful owner, but it also reinforced that we live in a great community with honest people", comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
