CATHOLIC SCHOOL BOARD LOOKING TO MAKE OCTOBER 13TH A PA DAY, NOT OCTOBER 3RD
3/17/2017 7:36:22 AM

While the Grand Erie District School Board's strategy for Young Canada Day is still up in the air, it's business as usual for the Catholic School Board.

They tell myFM that they are choosing Friday the 13th as their PA day in October, not October 3rd, though this is waiting for final approval.

Young Canada Day is a regular school day for students in Catholic Schools within Norfolk, meaning teachers are expected to stay at school, as it has done over the past several years.

Students who are competing in events are excused that day, and any student who wishes to visit the grandstands to cheer on their school is required to have permission from their parents to miss the regular education day.

The Grand Erie District School Board is moving forward with the idea of declaring October 3rd as a PA Day after last years "Supervised" approach still posed several issues with the Board of Trustees.

Final approval should be made on March 27.
