Methadone Clinics in Downtown Norfolk.

Tuesday night at Town Hall, Doug Brunton spoke to fellow councilor Peter Black's motion to put a one-year hold on these clinics coming into Downtown's and for staff to figure out what zoning these clinics should fall under.

Councillor Doug Brunton blames the Methadone Clinics for what downtown Simcoe has become.

Black said he is aware that Methadone Clinics are needed, he just doesn't think Downtown's are the place they should be.

Black noted a few examples of town's changing bylaws and rezoning for this particular reason.

Brunton even suggested that in the future he'd like to look into relocating these facilities out of downtown Simcoe.

Our elected officially unanimously voted in favour of the motion to have staff come back with a report and a one-year ban on these facilities coming to downtowns.
