The Norfolk General Hospital's Palliative Care Unit is getting significant upgrades thanks to a local charity.

The group dubbed as "Norfolk's 100 Men Who Give A Damn" handed the hospital a cheque worth $12,100 on Wednesday.

The money going to N-G-H will provide new beds, roll away cots, and cosmetic upgrades to the Palliative Care Unit.

The group meets four times a year and hears from three local charities during their one-hour long meeting.

After each team makes a presentation, the men will decide on who gets the money with each man writing a cheque for $100.

Alan Duthie, one of the organizers, said the choice was hard, but it doesn't mean the door has been closed on the other two groups who were also looking for cash.

The next meeting is May 17th at 7 p.m. at the Simcoe Legion.
