A big event is coming to Norfolk County.

It's going to be a countywide weekend full of fun this September.

Adam Veri, Port Dover's Board of Trade President, said his group has partnered up with others to put on a major festival.

Live music is a guarantee with some of the funding going towards hiring an individual to bring in more major shows.

Local groups and businesses have thrown in around $50,000 towards to project as well with more money being raised shortly.

Parties will be held in downtowns across Port Dover, Waterford, Delhi, Simcoe and Port Rowan.

They are looking for additional partners and investors, or people who may have some fun ideas to come forward.

The project team is also committed to raising money during the event to create a legacy fund for Norfolk-based arts and culture projects with a minimum fundraising goal of $25,000 being set.

These funds will come from various sales at the actual event.

Norfolk County's Celebration of Culture will be held the weekend of September 22 -24.

Project updates will be announced on culturalmap.ca in the Culture Norfolk portal as they become available.
