There's word contractors are dragging their feet when it comes to tidying up mistakes in Port Dover. Board of Trade President Adam Veri went to Town Hall recently to ask our elected officials if these "mistakes" were going to be corrected by the construction crews on Main Street.

MAN CHARGED WITH MAKING DEATH THREATS IN SIMCOE

Things got a little bit wild and crazy on the Queensway in Simcoe. Police say a man pulled out a weapon and threatened to do serious harm after an argument boiled over with another man. It happened on the Queensway West just before 8-am on Tuesday.

A 21-year old Norfolk County man will be without a license for a week and maybe longer, following a stunt driving incident in Norwich Township. On Saturday, the OPP clocked a vehicle traveling 160 km an hour in a posted 80 zone.

OPP INVESTIGATING HIT AND RUN THAT SENT TWO TO HOSPITAL

The Haldimand OPP is investigating a hit and run that sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to eye witnesses, a silver mini van collided with a motorcycle ejecting both the driver and passenger on Indian Line Monday evening.

The Norfolk OPP dealt with two brawls on Friday. First on Robinson Street in Simcoe where two men got into an argument that turned physical. Both men, a 19-year-old and 45-year-old, from Norfolk County were charged with assault with a weapon.

Expect some slower traffic today (July 25th) if you're heading down Queensway in Simcoe. Queensway East will see lane closures to westbound traffic in the north lane with restricted access to driveways. This is expected to start today at 7 a.m. and go until 7 p.m.

The search for 73-year-old Robert Ranford has ended in tragedy. Ranford had not been seen since July 13th when he was out delivering newspapers in the area of Talbot Street North. Last Tuesday, a body was discovered in a wooded area on Windham Street.

TURKEY POINT IS A TRAINING GROUND FOR TICK SWEEPING

Turkey Point is so well known for ticks that other health units are brought here for training. In May, Ontario Public Health brought people from various health units to train them on how to comb for ticks, how to gather them, and just provide overall tick training.

Firefighters quickly extinguish a blaze in Simcoe. On Saturday morning, Norfolk County Fire and Rescue was called out to King Lane for a garage fire. When crews arrived on scene heavy smoke was shooting up, and flames were pouring from the garage.

A Norfolk County Staff member, who helped oversee Norfolk's amalgamation in 2001, is getting set to call it a day. Kandy Webb, who has held many different titles in Haldimand and Norfolk, will retire as Norfolk's General Manager of Human Resources in August.

L-C-B-O WORKERS APPROVE NEW FOUR-YEAR CONTRACT

L-C-B-O workers have voted in favour of a new contract by a slim margin of just 56 per cent. The agreement covering some eight-thousand members of OP-SEU was signed in late June just ahead of a potential strike or lockout.
