MISCHIEF AT DUNNVILLE SCHOOLS

Three schools in Dunnville were broken into and damaged over the weekend. The Norfolk OPP say they received a call on Monday morning of mischief at Fairview Avenue School where three windows had been broken by an unknown number of suspects.

DROWNING PREVENTION SIGNS TO BE SET UP IN NORFOLK

Signs are going to be set up when enter Long Point, Turkey Point, and Port Dover to warn you about drowning. Members of area community policing groups came to council to get permission to erect these 4 feet by 8 feet signs warning of the strong undertow on Lake Erie.

The third weekend in August is always set aside as a special time in Port Dover. The Port Dover Summer Festival, or Art in the Park as it is commonly referred to, has been attracting thousands of visitors on this particular weekend for over 40 years.

OPP RELEASE NAME OF FARM WORKER WHO DIED IN A TRACTOR ACCIDENT

The Norfolk OPP has released the name of the man who died in a tragic farming accident. According to police, 43-year-old Ernest Williamson of Jamaica was operating a tractor at a Windham Road 5 property when it slid down the bank near a pond and trapped him.

Haldimand County OPP has released the name of the man who died in a three-vehicle crash. On Tuesday, police say an SUV, a car, and a motor home collided on Smithville Road in Canborough.

The staff report looking into our aging facilities has been put on the backburner. Tuesday night at Town Hall, Council turned down staffs recommendation to hire a consultant who would go in depth into our recreational facilities and come up with multiple solutions.

The Six Nations Elected Council wants to sit down with members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council. Right now, barricades are in place on Argyle Street in Caledonia and will not come down until the demands of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council are met.
